Lawrence County VINELink Coverage
TDOC Victim Services is Tennessee's official bridge to VINELink. Its instructions cover felony offenders in TDOC custody and tell users to select Tennessee, search by offender name or TDOC number, then open Record Details or Get Notified. That establishes a state correctional route. It does not establish blanket coverage for every Tennessee jail.
For Lawrence County Detention Center, check the live result for the actual source or facility. If Lawrence County appears, interpret only the status and date that source reports. If TDOC appears, the record concerns the state correctional system. An ordinary county bond release may never enter TDOC. The sheriff's Booking line and official app remain needed when the last known custodian was the county jail.
This source check prevents two common errors. First, a Lawrence County charge does not establish that the county jail supplies the VINE record. Second, a state offender record does not describe an unrelated county booking. Record the agency named on the detail screen before drawing a conclusion. If the source is unclear, the result is a lead rather than confirmed Lawrence County release evidence.

The screenshot confirms the search entry point, not Lawrence County jail participation or any person's release. Coverage and status must come from a live, properly matched record.
For a released county detainee who is no longer in current jail information, follow the official local path described on the Lawrence County released inmate search. A missing VINELink result can reflect spelling, aliases, timing, nonparticipation, transfer, or system scope.
A county court search can add durable context. Follow the official Lawrence County court guide, then choose Criminal in the county portal and search by case number or name for bond, dismissal, plea, judgment, sentence, jail credit, probation, revocation, or transfer-related entries. These events can explain why custody changed. They do not establish the exact physical release time, so the sheriff's release record remains the stronger local confirmation.

Read what the matched record actually displays, then preserve its wording. A “released” label is source-specific. For TDOC cases, compare the VINE record with FOIL. FOIL may show incarcerated, probation, parole, or inactive status, plus sentence and release information. Probation or parole generally means the person has left prison but remains supervised. Inactive is a different status. Neither system should be used as a same-day Lawrence County release list.
Dates also require a label. An update time, hearing date, Release Eligibility Date, alert time, actual release date, supervision start, and sentence expiration are different events. Copy the field name shown by the source. Tennessee's RED means the first date at which release may be considered under applicable rules. It must never be reported as VINELink proof that the person left custody.

- Keep the confirmation and update contact information when it changes.

Those instructions also provide live-operator support at 888-868-4631 around the clock. Support can help with VINE use, while release confirmation still belongs to the reporting custodian.
Notification channel choice matters when contact details change. Select only the phone numbers or addresses the user can reliably monitor, finish each confirmation prompt, and retain the enrollment record. If an automated call presents a PIN step, follow that live instruction. The public Tennessee page does not publish one universal PIN, so no fixed number or rule should be assumed.
Note: Save the alert wording and time, then verify whether the event was release, transfer, or another status change with the named agency.
Lawrence County Notification Alternatives
Tennessee provides two state notification routes. VINELink supplies the live Get Notified workflow. TDOC also offers a printable Victim or Member of the Public Request for Notification. The paper route is separate from web enrollment and can be sent through TDOC Victim Services at Victim.Notification@tn.gov, Rachel Jackson Building, Fifth Floor, 320 Sixth Avenue North, Nashville, TN 37243-0465.
Lawrence County also publishes a VOCA Victim Coordinator number, 931-762-1608. This is a local victim-services layer. The reviewed sheriff sources do not say that the coordinator enrolls people in VINELink, so the role should not be described that way. Use VINELink or TDOC's form for notification registration and the local contact only for the services it actually provides.
The printable TDOC request asks for a separate state notification relationship. It is useful when web enrollment is unavailable or when Victim Services directs the requester to that channel. It still concerns the state process. For an ordinary Lawrence County jail episode, Booking remains the route to verify physical presence, release, or transfer, unless a live VINELink record clearly identifies the county source.

Confirm Lawrence County Release Status
The correct fallback depends on who last held the person. For the Lawrence County Detention Center, call Booking at 931-766-4177 and ask whether the person remains physically present. If not, request the actual release date and disposition or the receiving agency. Jail general questions go to 931-762-3646. The official sheriff app has a Jail / Inmate Info tile, but its store listing does not prove a release archive, release fields, or timing.
For TDOC custody, use FOIL and request a release authorization or discharge record when the precise event matters. For a federal sentence, use the BOP Inmate Locator, which can report Released or Not in BOP Custody and a release date. It warns that another system may still hold the person. ICE uses a separate locator with a narrow recently released scope. VINELink is not a substitute for either federal tool.
The Tennessee Sex Offender Registry is also separate. It applies only to people required by law to register. A record there may continue long after confinement and does not prove when a person left the Lawrence County jail. It answers registration status, not general release status.
When sources conflict, preserve the date, wording, and agency shown by each. Ask the originating office to resolve the discrepancy. Custody changes quickly, and a transfer can occur close to a release alert.
A targeted records request can resolve older or disputed county facts. Identify the person with name, aliases, date of birth when known, booking number, and an approximate booking range. Ask for the booking sheet, actual release date and time, recorded disposition, transfer destination, and receiving agency. The custodian determines availability, exemptions, fees, and retention. This record-based route is more reliable than treating an alert screen as a permanent Lawrence County release archive.
For an alert about a transfer, ask which agency received the person and continue in that system. A move from Lawrence County custody to TDOC, another county, BOP, or ICE is still custody. For an alert that uses release wording, ask the named source for the actual date and disposition. This short follow-up separates a real community exit from a system handoff and preserves the limits of the VINELink event.
